The Einscan H2's infrared mode exists for exactly this: scanning a person who breathes, blinks and cannot hold still. Unlike white light it doesn't dazzle, which matters most when the subject is four years old and their patience runs out after ten seconds.
What you can order
- A portrait bust or a full figure
- A child at a particular age. That age doesn't come back
- A pet
- A couple or a family group
- A gift for a birthday, a wedding or a graduation
- An athlete in their own kit
- A figure built from photos, when scanning isn't possible
- The digital file alone, if you'd rather print it yourself
Without a scanning session
Not everyone can be brought in front of a scanner. The dog won't sit still, grandma lives three hours away, and some of the people you'd want a figure of aren't here any more. In those cases the model can be built from photographs: shots from several angles turned into a three-dimensional shape.
The honest difference: a scan is accurate, a model built from photos is an interpretation. The face comes out recognisable, but not identical to the millimetre. When the alternative is “it can't be done”, that's a good trade, and I'll tell you which one you're getting before the work, not after.
How it works
Scanning takes a few minutes and nobody has to freeze. The model is cleaned up, prepared and printed, in fine resin detail or in colour. The scan is kept: if you want a second copy or another size next year, there's no need to come back.
Straight talk
It isn't cheap and it isn't necessary. It's a thing that sits on a shelf and makes someone stop. If you're after a gift that doesn't get thrown away, this is one of the few that genuinely stays.
Tell me who, and what size. A price comes back.
